SalonCentric → Manage your entire salon business operation from your phone.
SalonCentric (L'Oréal) provides salon owners with products essential for their business. The task was to transform SalonCentric’s app from a one-dimensional shopping experience to a dynamic, flexible tool that serves SalonCentric's modern beauty community.
Critical to the technical challenge was mapping all new designs with the existing data model and leading a full scale transition from ObjectiveC and Java to SWIFT and Kotlin.
Discover insightful articles on professional techniques and growth, sign-up for classes easily, or learn and shop at once.

Outline — SalonCentric as a platform has snowballed alongside its userbase and has seen a significant lift in features and offerings. We brought the shopping experience up to category parity and re-organized the content to be easier to find and consume. For the mobile app, we expanded search capabilities by including voice search and bar-code scanning.
Background — L'Oreal created SalonCentric to help salon owners and independent stylists manage and operate their business by providing easy access to retail catalogs and product education. In addition to managing inventory and buying directly from vendors, stylists also gain access to premium learning and training content and access to exclusive deals and events.
Challenges — Stylists are trying to manage their businesses by operating as both the creative as well as the entrepreneur. Stylists are the quintessential mobile-first business operators, and they need a tool that supports their needs across a variety of dimensions, not just inventory and inspiration.
We did a complete iOS and Android tech stack overhaul for this release and integrated it with the existing commerce and content platform.
